A mixer valve includes a cartridge (26) that houses a ball valve element (24) that has its lower end exposed to cooperate with inlet ports. The ball valve element (24) is vertically affixed within the cartridge housing (56) by a pin (60) extending through the ball valve element and having its distal ends (62) received in a pair of circumferentially extending slots (68).
