A multi-analyzer system where at least two automatic clinical analyzers (10, 11) are linked together by a bi-directional sample rack shuttle (68), both analyzers initially capable of performing a slightly different menu of assays. The bi-directional incoming and outgoing sample rack transport system (73) of a first one of the two analyzers is automatically converted into a one-way incoming sample rack transport system and the incoming sample tube transport system (76) of a second of the two analyzers is automatically converted into a one-way outgoing transport system adapted to dispose of all sample racks having sample tubes with sample finally tested by either analyzer. In the event that one of the two analyzers experiences an operating failure, the analyzer system may automatically revert to a single analyzer system employing only the operational analyzer.
La présente invention a trait à un système à analyseurs multiples dans lequel au moins deux analyseurs cliniques automatiques (10, 11) sont reliés l'un à l'autre par une navette bidirectionnelle de portoir d'échantillons (68), les deux analyseurs étant initialement capables d'effectuer un menu d'analyse légèrement différent. Le système de transport bidirectionnel aller-retour de portoir d'échantillons (73) d'un premier parmi les deux analyseurs se transforme automatiquement en un système unidirectionnel de transport retour de portoir d'échantillons et le système unidirectionnel de transport retour de portoir d'échantillons (76) d'un deuxième parmi les analyseurs se transforme automatiquement en un système unidirectionnel de transport aller adapté à disposer tous le portoirs d'échantillons comprenant des tubes d'échantillons avec un échantillon définitivement analysé par l'un ou l'autre analyseur. Au cas où l'un des analyseurs subit un défaut de fonctionnement, le système d'analyseurs peut automatiquement retourner à un système d'analyseur unique utilisant seulement l'analyseur opérationnel.
