Disclosed is a multi-functional apparatus (41) having a single electromagnetic device (44) to drive a multiple of electrically-actuated functions. The multi- functional apparatus (41) has an armature shaft (65) that selectively and alternatively activates a window wiper assembly (45) and a flexible, elongated drive element such as a cable (46) coupled to opposing ends of the armature shaft (65).
