A method and device are disclosed for providing a navigation device particularly suited for walking routes. In one embodiment, the method includes determining, in a navigation device, a number of maps for traveling along a route based upon an initial position and an input end position; inputting the end position; and displaying a map on the navigation device and prompting sequential display of the determined number of maps for traveling along the route from the initial position to the input end position.

L'invention concerne un procédé et un dispositif permettant d'obtenir un dispositif de navigation particulièrement adapté à des itinéraires de marche. Dans un mode de réalisation, le procédé consiste à déterminer, dans un dispositif de navigation, un certain nombre de cartes permettant de suivre un itinéraire en fonction d'une position initiale et d'une position finale entrée, à entrer la position finale, et à afficher une carte sur le dispositif de navigation et à solliciter l'affichage séquentiel du nombre déterminé de cartes pour suivre l'itinéraire de la position initiale à la position finale entrée.
