Provided are an anode active material for a lithium secondary battery having high reversible capacity and excellent charge/discharge efficiency, comprising a complex composed of ultra-fine Si phase particles and an oxide surrounding the ultra-fine Si phase particles, and a carbon material; and a method for preparing the same. The present invention also provides a method for preparing an anode active material for a lithium secondary battery comprising producing a complex composed of ultra-fine Si particles and an oxide surrounding the ultra-fine Si particles by mixing a silicon oxide and a material having an absolute value of oxide formation enthalpy (.DELTA.Hfor) greater than that of the silicon oxide and negative oxide formation enthalpy by a mechanochemical process or subjecting them to a thermochemical reaction to reduce the silicon oxide; and mixing the Si phase-containing oxide complex and carbon material.

L'invention concerne un matériau d'anode actif pour batterie secondaire au lithium à capacité réversible élevée et excellente efficacité de charge/décharge, qui comprend un complexe de particules ultrafines à phase Si et d'oxyde entourant ces particules, et de matériau en carbone. L'invention concerne également un procédé d'élaboration correspondant. L'invention concerne en outre un procédé d'élaboration de matériau d'anode actif pour batterie secondaire au lithium qui consiste à produire un complexe de particules ultrafines de Si et d'oxyde entourant ces particules, par mélange d'oxyde de silicium et de matériau ayant une valeur absolue d'enthalpie de formation d'oxyde (.LAMBDA.H¿for?) supérieure à celle de l'oxyde de silicium et une enthalpie de formation d'oxyde négative. On utilise à cet effet un processus mécanochimique ou une réaction thermochimique pour réduire l'oxyde de silicium et on mélange le complexe d'oxyde à phase Si et le matériau en carbone.
