A server computer is connected to a destination computer via a network. The server computer has at least a web page and an image reduction program. The image reduction program is used to shrink a digital image file. When the destination computer requests the web page from the server, the server will instead send a related web page which has the references to graphics files changed to new references. These new references point to reductions of the original graphics files, the reductions being made by the image reduction program. Additionally, these reductions will have hyperlinks associated with them so that the user can click on the reduced image to view the original image.
