An aqueous floor-care, self-shine emulsion composition having a pH of 5 to 9 containing a natural or synthetic wax and an alcohol selected from benzyl alcohol, 2-phenylethanol, 2-phenoxyethanol and mixtures thereof. The invention also relates to a process for providing a shine to a floor comprising applying to said floor the undiluted aqueous self-shine emulsion composition described above and allowing the composition to dry.
