The fluoride surfactant-free, long-term stable and biodegradable additive for chromic acid solutions lowers the surface tension and thus enhances the separation process of the chromium, particularly when used with electrolytic chroming. Preferred additives are CH3(CH2)nSO3H and the salts thereof wherein n = 10 to 18.

L'invention concerne un additif sans tensio-actifs fluorés, stable à longue durée et biodégradable pour des solutions d'acide chromique agissant en réduisant la tension de surface et améliorant ainsi le processus de déposition du chrome, particulièrement lors de l'emploi pour le chromage électrolytique. Les additifs préférés sont CH3(CH2)nSO3H et leurs sels, avec n = 10 à 18.
