The present invention provides a polynucleotide (ubcp) which identifies and encodes a novel ubiquitin-conjugating enzyme (UBCP). The invention provides for genetically engineered expression vectors and host cells comprising the nucleic acid sequence encoding UBCP. The invention also provides for the use of substantially purified UBCP and its agonists, antagonists, or inhibitors in the commercial production of recombinant proteins and in pharmaceutical compositions for the treatment of diseases associated with the expression of UBCP. Additionally, the invention provides for the use of antisense molecules to ubcp in pharmaceutical compositions for treatment of diseases associated with the expression of UBCP. The invention also describes diagnostic assays which utilize diagnostic compositions comprising the polynucleotide, fragments or the complement thereof, which hybridize with the genomic sequence or the transcript of ubcp or anti-UBCP antibodies which specifically bind to UBCP.
La présente invention porte sur un polynucléotide (ubcp) qui reconnaît et code une nouvelle enzyme de conjugaison de l'ubiquitine (UBCP). L'invention porte également sur des vecteurs d'expression et des cellules hôtes issus du génie génétique comprenant la séquence d'acide nucléique codant l'UBCP. L'invention porte également sur l'utilisation de l'UBCP substantiellement purifiée et ses agonistes, antagonistes ou inhibiteurs pour la production commerciale de protéines recombinantes et de compositions pharmaceutiques pour le traitement des maladies liées à l'expression de l'UBCP. De plus, l'invention porte sur l'utilisation de molécules antisens de l'ubcp dans des compositions pharmaceutiques pour le traitement des maladies liées à l'expression de l'UBCP. L'invention décrit également des épreuves diagnostiques qui font intervenir des compositions diagnostiques comprenant le polynucléotide, des fragments ou une séquence complémentaire de ce dernier, qui s'hybride avec la séquence génomique ou le transcrit de l'ubcp ou des anticorps anti-UBCP qui se lient spécifiquement à l'UBCP.
