A medical appliance for the treatment of obstructive sleep apnea in a patient, the appliance compris-ing: a securing device configured to be removably affixed to the patient's jaw; and a biasing member which is in-sertable behind the soft palate and/or the base of the pa-tient's tongue, thereby providing for the flow of air in the nasopharyngeal airway; wherein the securing device is connected to the biasing member to allow insertion and/or removal of the biasing member from the nasopharyngeal airway.

L'invention porte sur un appareil médical pour le traitement d'apnée du sommeil obstructive chez un patient. L'appareil comprend : un dispositif de sécurité configuré pour être fixé de façon amovible à la mâchoire du patient ; et un élément de sollicitation qui peut être introduit derrière le palais mou et/ou la base de la langue du patient, fournissant ainsi l'écoulement d'air dans la canule nasopharyngée. Le dispositif de sécurité est relié à l'élément de sollicitation pour permettre une introduction et/ou un retrait de l'élément de sollicitation de la canule nasopharyngée.
