In a wavelength division multiplex (WDM) optical communications network having a plurality of nodes, each of which comprises a wavelength selective optical cross-connect having a plurality of switching fabrics, each switching fabric being provided for switching wavelength channels of a specific wavelength, a method of transmitting information from a start node to a target node comprises: applying to respective inputs (i' 1) of switching fabrics of the start cross-~connect, at least two wavelength channels (working and protection channels) having different wavelengths but which are modulated with the same information; transmitting the working and protection channels to the target cross-connect; and dropping the working and protection channels at outputs of different switching fabrics provided for different wavelengths of the target cross-connect.
Dans un réseau de communication optique à multiplexage par répartition en longueur d'onde (MRL), comportant plusieurs noeuds, chacun d'entre eux ayant un raccordement croisé optique à sélection de longueur d'onde et étant pourvu d'une matrice de commutation dont chacune sert à commuter des canaux de longueur d'onde spécifique, la technique de transmission d'information d'un noeud de départ à un noeud cible consiste, à attribuer aux entrées respectives (i' 1) des matrices de commutation du raccordement croisé de départ au moins deux canaux de longueur d'onde (canaux d'exploitation et de protection) ayant différentes longueurs d'onde, mais qui sont modulés avec la même information, à transmettre ces canaux d'exploitation et de protection au raccordement croisé cible et à déplacer les canaux d'exploitation et de protection vers les sorties des différentes matrices de commutation prévues pour les différentes longueurs d'onde du raccordement croisé.
