The plug part (1) has at its disposal a protective flap (14) which on a bearing section is linkedly mounted on the plug housing (2) in a manner such that on inserting the plug part into a socket part it is movable from a closure position with a covered end-face side of the plug pin into an opening position with an open end-face side of the plug pin. The bearing section or where appropriate a guide path (15) may with this be completely or partly formed by a guide element, preferably in the form of a roughly U-shaped bow. This permits a secure mounting of the protective flap also with small-format plug parts, with which the arrangement of bearing elements on the plug housing can no longer be realised.
