The object of the invention is to provide a point-to-multipoint transmission network with allocation of transmission channels. The point-to-multipoint transmission network according to the invention is characterised in particular in that each of the n transmission channels made available by the control centre (0) is freely accessible to each sub-centre (11, 12, 13, 14; 15, 16, 17, 18) and no predefined allocation of groups of transmission channels to predefined sub-centres takes place. The allocation of transmission channels to sub-centres (11, 12, 13, 14; 15, 16, 17, 18) takes place in a simple manner by checking the occupation status of a transmission channel and allocating the transmission channel if it is still free. A rigid, predetermined division of the available transmission channels into groups which can be accessed only by specific sub-centres is abandoned in favour of one single pool of transmission channels containing all the available transmission channels. This results in maximum allocation flexibility and optimal utilization of the available transmission channels.
