A portable telephone apparatus that achieves international roaming inexpensively by performing roaming between mobile telephone systems that use different communication protocols. In detail, if the present apparatus, in an initialization state, receives a sync channel message generated from a base station, the portable telephone apparatus reads a P_REV message which shows the communication protocol used in the mobile phone system. When the communication protocol is T53, the portable telephone apparatus performs a plurality of procedures from an idle state through to a traffic channel state in a standard manner, but when the communication protocol is IS--95, the portable telephone apparatus controls wireless communication by replacing one procedure of the plurality of procedures performed from the idle state through to the traffic channel state with another procedure.
Un appareil de téléphone portable qui permet d'obtenir l'itinérance internationale à peu de frais en effectuant les procédures d'itinérance entre des systèmes de téléphonie mobile qui utilisent différents protocoles de communication. Plus précisément, lorsque le présent appareil, en phase d'initialisation, reçoit un message de canal de synchronisation généré par une station de base, l'appareil de téléphone portable lit un message P_REV qui montre le protocole de communication utilisé dans le système de téléphone mobile. Lorsque le protocole de communication est T53, l'appareil de téléphone portable effectue une pluralité de procédures à partir d'un état de repos, par le truchement d'un état de canal de trafic en mode standard, mais lorsque le protocole est IS--95, l'appareil de téléphone portable contrôle la communication sans fil en remplaçant une procédure de la pluralité de procédures effectuées à partir d'un état de repos par le biais d'un état de canal de trafic, avec une autre procédure.
