A process, apparatus and moulding unit for small articles of ice confectionery The machine for the production of small articles of ice confectionery comprises master moulds containing counter moulds and forming a moulding assembly fixed to an endless chain successively advancing in steps into freezing and heating zones. After it has been formed in the cavity between the master mould and the countermould, the article is demoulded in two steps, the countermould being removed first, followed by the article itself which is then taken up by a chain and transported to a wrapping station. The counter mould is replaced in the master mould and the master mould-countermould combination is returned and then cleaned. The process may be used in particular for the production of ice lollies having a convex part.
