The present invention relates to a process for preparing a dry coating composition for paper and board, wherein the process comprises mixing at least one pigment and at least one binder and pulverizing the obtained mixture, and wherein 25% to 100% of the pigment has particle size D90 from 10 µm to 50 µm before mixing with the binder. The invention relates also to the use of pigments having a particle size D90 from 10 µm to 50 µm in the production of pulverized dry coating composition for paper and board for improving the surface strength of a coating, which is made by dry coating a paper or board with said dry coating composition.

La présente invention porte sur un procédé pour la préparation d'une composition de couchage à sec pour du papier et du carton, le procédé comprenant le mélange d'au moins un pigment et d'au moins un liant et la pulvérisation du mélange obtenu, 25 % à 100 % du pigment présentant une taille des particules D90 de 10 µm à 50 µm avant mélange avec le liant. L'invention porte également sur l'utilisation de pigments dont la taille des particules D90 est de 10 µm à 50 µm pour la production d'une composition de couchage à sec pulvérisée pour du papier et du carton afin daméliorer la résistance dune surface d'un couchage, lequel est fabriqué par couchage à sec d'un papier ou carton avec ladite composition de couchage à sec.
