A process for preparing a catalyst comprising silver on a support, which process comprises - depositing silver on the support, and - depositing on the support a base having a pKb of at most 3.5 when measured in water at 25 ~C, in a quantity of at least 50 mmole per kg of the support, simultaneously with or later than depositing silver on the support; the catalyst; and a process for preparing an olefin oxide by reacting an olefin with oxygen in the presence of the catalyst.
La présente invention concerne un procédé permettant de préparer un catalyseur comprenant de l'argent sur un support. Le procédé décrit dans cette invention consiste à déposer de l'argent sur le support, puis à déposer, sur ce support, une base présentant un pK¿b? de 3.5, au maximum, dans de l'eau à 25 ?·¿C, en quantité d'au moins 50 mmoles par kg de support, en même temps ou après que l'argent est déposé sur le support. La présente invention concerne également le catalyseur ainsi obtenu, ainsi qu'un procédé permettant de préparer un oxyde oléfinique par réaction d'une oléfine avec de l'oxygène en présence du catalyseur.
