The invention provides a process for preparing N-(hydrocarbyl)phosphoric or thiophosphoric triamides with substantially improved yields and purity. Two equivalents of hydrocarbylamine are used in the reaction with phosphoryl or thiophosphoryl chloride and then with ammonia in an aromatic solvent. The invention further relates to N-(hydrocarbyl)phosphopric or thiophosphoric triamides having the purity of at least 98 % wherein R is a hydrocarbyl group and X is O or S.

La présente invention concerne un procédé de synthèse de triamides N-(hydrocarbyl)-phosphoriques ou thiophosphoriques avec des rendements et une pureté substantiellement améliorés. Deux équivalents dhydrocarbylamine sont employés dans la réaction avec le chlorure de phosphoryle ou de thiophosphoryle, puis avec l'ammoniac dans un solvant aromatique. La présente invention concerne en outre les triamides N-(hydrocarbyl)-phosphoriques ou thiophosphoriques d'une pureté d'au moins 98 %.
