Heavy waxy oil is dewaxed by a mild cracking and isomerization process using a catalyst comprising SSZ-32 and at least one Group VIII metal. The heavy oil contains naphthenic wax, which includes only a relatively small amount of normal alkanes. Naphthenic wax containing a minor amount of oil may also be dewaxed using the process.

On procède au déparaffinage d'une huile lourde paraffineuse par craquage doux et isomérization au moyen d'un catalyseur contenant du SSZ-32 et au moins un métal de Groupe VIII. L'huile lourde contient de la cire naphténique à teneur relativement faible en alcanes normaux. On peut également réaliser le déparaffinage de la cire naphténique à faible teneur en huile au moyen de ce procédé.
