A process for reactive distillation wherein a carboxylic acid is reacted in a reaction section of a reactive distillation column with an alcohol under esterifying conditions in the presence of a catalyst to form an ester, wherein a first supply stream comprising the carboxylic acid, a second supply stream comprising the alcohol and a third supply stream comprising an inert entrainer are supplied to the reactive distillation column, wherein the first supply stream is supplied to the column at a first entry level located just above or at the top of the reaction section, the second supply stream is supplied to the column at a second entry level located in or just below the reaction section and below the first entry level, and the third supply stream is supplied to the column at a third entry level located in or below the reaction section and not above the second entry level and wherein a bottom stream comprising the ester formed and unreacted carboxylic acid is obtained and a top stream comprising unreacted alcohol, water and entrainer is obtained.
L'invention concerne un procédé de distillation réactive, selon lequel un acide carboxylique est mis en réaction dans une section de réaction d'une colonne de distillation réactive avec un alcool dans des conditions d'estérification en présence d'un catalyseur pour former un ester, un premier courant d'alimentation comprenant l'acide carboxylique, un deuxième courant d'alimentation comprenant l'alcool et un troisième courant d'alimentation comprenant un entraîneur inerte étant introduits dans la colonne de distillation réactive, le premier courant d'alimentation étant introduit dans la colonne à un premier niveau d'entrée situé juste au-dessus ou en haut de la section de réaction, le deuxième courant d'alimentation étant introduit dans la colonne à un deuxième niveau d'entrée situé dans ou juste en dessous de la section de réaction et sous le premier niveau d'entrée, et le troisième courant d'alimentation étant introduit dans la colonne à un troisième niveau d'entrée situé dans ou sous la section de réaction et pas au-dessus du deuxième niveau d'entrée, et un courant de fond comprenant l'ester formé et l'acide carboxylique non réagi étant obtenu et un courant de tête comprenant l'alcool non réagi, de l'eau et l'entraîneur étant obtenu.
