A method for coating the inside diameter of an elongated pipe or tubing section with a uniform thermoplastic layer having a thickness greater than 0.020 inches includes inserting a uniform distribution of coating material granules within the pipe or tubing section, then heating the elongated pipe or tubing section while rotating the elongated pipe or tubing section. Once the inside diameter of the elongated pipe or tubing section has been coated, it is cooled.
