The invention provides a process for the manufacture of carbon disulphide comprising supplying a feedstock comprising a hydrocarbonaceous compound to a reaction zone containing a liquid elemental sulphur phase and reacting, in the liquid sulphur phase, at a temperature in the range of from 350 to 750 °C and a pressure in the range of from 3 to 200 bar (absolute) and in the absence of a catalyst, the hydrocarbonaceous compound with elemental sulphur in the absence of molecular oxygen. The invention further provides the use of a liquid stream comprising carbon disulphide and hydrogen sulphide obtainable by such process for enhanced oil recovery.

L'invention concerne un procédé destiné à la fabrication de disulfure de carbone consistant à acheminer une charge qui contient un composé hydrocarboné dans une zone de réaction qui comprend une phase de soufre élémentaire liquide, et à faire réagir dans cette phase, à une température comprise entre 350 et 750 °C, à une pression allant de 3 à 200 bars (absolu) et en l'absence d'un catalyseur, le composé hydrocarboné avec du soufre élémentaire en l'absence d'oxygène moléculaire. Cette invention a aussi pour objet l'utilisation d'un flux liquide contenant du disulfure de carbone et du sulfure d'hydrogène pouvant être obtenus par ce procédé amélioré de récupération de pétrole.
