A process for the preparation of methacrylate esters, wherein (a) propyne is stripped in a distillation column from a solvant stream containing dissolved propyne, to afford a gaseous propyne stream that is subsequently condensed, and (b) the condensed propyne is contacted with carbon monoxide and an alcohol in the presence of a carbonylation catalyst, characterised in that the propyne is stripped in a distillation column that is equipped with an internal condenser to afford partial condensation for the supply of reflux.

Procédé servant à préparer des esters de méthacrylate et consistant à (a) extraire du propyne dans une colonne de distillation à partir d'un flux de solvant contenant du propyne dissous, de manière à obtenir un flux gazeux de propyne qui est ensuite condensé et (b) à mettre en contact le propyne condensé avec de l'oxyde de carbone et un alcool en présence d'un catalyseur de carbonylation. Ce procédé est caractérisé par le fait que le propyne est extrait dans une colonne de distillation équipée d'un condensateur intérieur, ce qui sert à effectuer une condensation partielle permettant l'alimentation en reflux.
