Rubber mixtures composed of at least one rubber and at least one water repellentoxide or silicate filler are prepared by treating the filler used, which contains <3 wt.% of physically bound water, with 1 to 100 parts by wt. of a plasticiser, based on 100 parts by wt. of filler, and mixing the filler thus treated in the conventional manner with the rubber used.
