The present invention relates to a process comprising polymerizing repeat units derived from an acid component comprising terephthalic acid and naphthalenedicarboxylic acid and at least one glycol in the presence of less than about 10 ppm sodium carbonate and between about 10 and about 60 ppm phosphorus. Polyesters formed via the process of the present invention display surprisingly good clarity and color.
La présente invention se rapporte à un procédé consistant à polymériser des motifs répétitifs dérivés d'un composant acide comprenant de l'acide téréphtalique et de l'acide naphthalènedicarboxylique ainsi qu'au moins un glycol, en présence de moins de 10 ppm environ de carbonate de sodium et de 10 ppm environ à 60 ppm environ de phosphore. Les polyesters formés conformément à ce procédé présentent un degré de transparence et de couleur étonnamment bon.
