A process for the production of fillers modified with organosilicon compounds, the fillers thus modified and their use. The invention relates to a two-step process for the surface modification of natural or synthetic oxidic or silicate fillers using organosilicon compounds correspond- ing to the following formulae (see formulae I or II) in which the filler and the compound are intensively mixed in the absence of further solvent and the homogenized mixture is subjected to the hydrophobicizing reaction in the preheated mixer.
