A process for the production of paper by forming and dewatering a suspension of cellulose containing fibers and optional fillers on a wire. Three components are added to the suspension, a cationic starch, a cationic polyacrylamide and a polymeric sili- cic acid, in order to improve retention and dewatering at paper production.
