There is provided a process for the recovery of HCI from a dilute solution thereof, comprising bringing a dilute aqueous HCI solution into contact with a substantially water-immiscible extractant, the extractant comprising an oil soluble amine, which amine is substantially water insoluble both in free and in salt form; an oil soluble weak organic acid having a pKa above 3, which acid is substantially water insoluble both in free and in salt form; and a solvent for the amine and organic acid; whereupon HCI selectively transfers to the extractant to form an HCI-carrying extractant, and treating the HCI-carrying extractant to obtain gaseous HCI. Also provided is the extractant composition.
L'invention porte sur un procédé pour la récupération d'HCl à partir d'une solution diluée de celui-ci, comprenant la mise en contact d'une solution aqueuse diluée d'HCl avec un agent d'extraction pratiquement non miscible avec l'eau, l'agent d'extraction incluant une amine soluble dans l'huile, laquelle amine est pratiquement insoluble dans l'eau à la fois sous forme libre et sous forme de sel ; un acide organique faible soluble dans l'huile présentant un pKa supérieur à 3, lequel acide est pratiquement insoluble dans l'eau à la fois sous forme libre et sous forme de sel ; et un solvant pour l'amine et l'acide organique ; HCl étant transféré sélectivement vers l'agent d'extraction pour former un agent d'extraction riche en HCl ; et le traitement de l'agent d'extraction riche en HCl pour obtenir de l'HCl gazeux. L'invention porte également sur la composition d'agent d'extraction.
