A Process for the emulsification and separation of high viscosity aliphatic and aromatic hydrocarbons from oil bearing soils is described. The Process can also be used as an aid in the separation and recovery of bituminous materials from both Oil l Tar Sands that bear connated and non-connated water. The Process can be further used in the removal, from hard surfaces, of natural and synthetic waxes such as polishing and anti - stick silicones. The application of such an invention is shown to have value in the processes of 1) in situ and ex situ Oil/Tar Sand bitumen recovery, 2) bitumen viscosity reduction for transport, 3) the unclogging of paraffin (and/ or kerogen) blocked fissures / fractures in hydrocarbon bearing geologic strata/ formations, and 4) the enhancement of gas and oil recovery by similarily unblocking clogged bore holes that have ceased production.
