A process for treating a supported epoxidation catalyst comprising silver in a quantity of at most 0.15 g per m2 surface area of the support, which process comprises: - contacting the catalyst, or a precursor of the catalyst comprising silver in cationic form, with a treatment feed comprising oxygen at a catalyst temperature of at least 350~C for a duration of at least 5 minutes; the catalyst; a process for the epoxidation of an olefin; and a process for producing a 1,2-diol, 1,2-diolether, or an alkanolamine.

L'invention concerne un procédé destiné à traiter un catalyseur d'époxydation sur support comprenant de l'argent dans une quantité inférieure ou égale à 0,15 g par m2 de surface du support. Ce procédé consiste à: mettre en contact le catalyseur, ou un précurseur de ce catalyseur comprenant l'argent sous forme cationique avec une charge de traitement comprenant de l'oxygène à une température de catalyseur d'au moins 350°C, pendant une durée d'au moins 5 minutes. L'invention concerne également le catalyseur susmentionné, un procédé destiné à époxyder une oléfine; et un procédé destiné à produire un 1,2-diol, un 1,2-dioléther ou une alcanolamine.
