A process that produces a crosslinked composition is provided. This process comprises crosslinking a composition that comprises: (a) polymers that comprise ethylene; (b) an amount of crosslinking agent; and (c) an amount of crosslinking coagent. A crosslinked composition is also provided. This crosslinked composition comprises: (a) polymers that comprise ethylene; and (b) an amount of crosslinking coagent, where said crosslinking coagent has been incorporated into the molecular structures of said polymers that comprise ethylene.
