A casing for the protection of an article contained within the casing is described, the protective casing comprising: at least two casing members which are assemblable to constitute a casing having an internal volume to receive the article, each of said at least two casing members comprising; an outer skin of fibre reinforced plastics material having a plurality of layers of reinforcing fibres in a plastics material matrix; an inner skin of fibre reinforced plastics material having a plurality of layers of reinforcing fibres in a plastics material matrix; a filling of a low density core material in a space between the outer and inner skin members; sealing means disposed in the joint face between said at least two casing members; and fastener means to hold said at least two members together the casing further comprising at least one metal insert on the inner skin.
L'invention concerne une enveloppe servant à protéger un article qu'elle contient. Cette enveloppe de protection est composée: d'au moins deux éléments pouvant être assemblés afin de constituer une enveloppe possédant un volume intérieur servant à recevoir l'article, chacun desdits deux éléments d'enveloppe comprenant: une peau extérieure en matière plastique renforcée par fibres et possédant une pluralité de couches de fibres de renforcement dans une matrice en matière plastique; une peau intérieure de matière plastique renforcée par fibres possédant une pluralité de couches de fibres de renforcement dans une matrice en matière plastique; une charge de matériau de bourrage de faible densité située dans un espace entre les éléments de peau extérieur et intérieur; des moyens de scellement situés dans la face de jonction entre lesdits deux éléments d'enveloppe; des moyens de fixation servant à retenir lesdits deux éléments l'un contre l'autre. Cette enveloppe comportant, de plus, au moins une pièce rapportée métallique sur la peau intérieure.
