A pull-out mechanism for drawers having a support rail (2) which is to be secured to a furniture carcass, a pull-out rail (15) which is to be secured to the drawer and a central rail (5), arranged in between, on each side of the drawer. The weight of the drawers is transmitted between the rails (2, 5, 15) by means of rollers. A respective deflection roller (9) is arranged at the front and at the rear end of the central rail, and a control cable (10) which is secured to the support rail (2) and to the pull-out rail (15) is guided over the deflection rollers (9). The cable (10) has two free ends, which are each connected to a coupling part. The coupling parts form a receiving part (12) and an inserting part (13) which have profiles (46, 49) in the shape of toothed racks, by way of which the inserting part (13) can be coupled in the receiving part (12) over a capture region corresponding to the length of the profiles (46, 49) in the shape of toothed racks. One of the coupling parts can be coupled to the support or pull-out rail (2, 15).
