A detector (64) for detection of ionizing radiation, and an apparatus for use in planar beam radiography, comprising such a detector. The detector comprises: a chamber filled with an ionizable medium; first and second electrode arrangements (2, 1, 18, 19) provided in said chamber with a space between them, said space including a conversion volume (13); means for electron avalanche amplification (17) arranged in said chamber; and, at least one arrangement of read-out elements (15) for detection of electron avalanches. To reduce the effect of possible spark discharges in the chamber, at least one of the first and second electrode arrangements comprises a resistive material having a surface facing the other electrode arrangement.
L'invention concerne un détecteur (64) de rayonnement ionisant, ainsi qu'un dispositif de radiographie à faisceau plan comprenant un tel détecteur. Ce détecteur comprend: une enceinte remplie d'un milieu ionisable; une première et une seconde électrode (2, 1, 18, 19) situées dans ladite enceinte et espacées, l'espace les séparant contenant un volume de conversion (13); des éléments d'amplification d'avalanche électronique (17) situés dans l'enceinte; et au moins un système de visualisation (15) servant à la détection des avalanches électroniques. Afin de réduire les effets d'une possible décharge d'étincelles dans l'enceinte, au moins une des électrodes comprend un matériau résistant dont une surface est placée face à l'autre électrode.
