A method for managing railcar movement in a railyard based on the flow of railyard tasks, using a system that includes a computer including a processor, a memory device, and a database. The railyard includes six subyards including a surge yard, a receiving yard, a receiving inspected (RI) yard, a classification yard, a departure yard and a departure inspected (DI) yard. The method uses initial parameters, input to the computer, to simulate railyard task flow utilizing a yard performance model. Based on the simulation, the method determines if a train schedule can be met.

Cette invention concerne une technique de gestion du mouvement des wagons dans une gare de triage en fonction des opérations de ladite gare, qui fait intervenir un système informatique avec processeur, dispositif à mémoire et base de données. La gare de triage comprend six gares secondaires dont un faisceau tampon, un faisceau de réception, un faisceau de réception avec inspection, un faisceau de triage, un faisceau de départ et un faisceau de départ avec inspection. Cette technique utilise des paramètres initiaux qui sont entrés dans l'ordinateur pour simuler le flux des opérations dans la gare au moyen d'un modèle de fonctionnement. A partir de cette simulation, il est possible de déterminer si un programme des trains peut être respecté.
