There is disclosed a ring binder mechanism (100, 200, 300, 400, 500) including a curved upper casing (102, 202, 302, 402, 520) supporting a pair of plates (104, 204, 304, 404, 504) to which three pairs of half rings (106, 206, 306, 406, 506) are mounted, in which pair of plates (104, 204, 304, 404, 504) are pivotable between a first configuration in which the half rings (106, 206, 306, 406, 506) are closed, and a second configuration in which the half-rings (106, 206, 306, 406, 506) are open, in which the ring binder mechanism (100, 200, 300, 400, 500) may be secured to a cover (134, 236, 332, 432, 532) via two rivets (110, 210, 310, 410, 510), in which each rivet (110, 210, 310, 410, 510) includes an upper portion (112, 212, 312, 412, 512) and a lower portion (114, 214, 314, 414, 514) which are secured with each other, in which the (112, 212, 312, 412, 512) includes a plate (116, 216, 316, 416, 516) and a post (120, 218, 318, 418, 518), in which the post (120, 218, 318, 418, 518) is engaged with the upper casing (102, 202, 302, 402, 502), in which the lower portion (114, 214, 314, 414, 514) includes a plate (122, 220, 322, 422, 522) and six prongs (126, 226, 326, 426, 526), and the prongs (126, 226, 326, 426, 526) may be driven to penetrate the (134, 236, 332, 432, 532).
