The invention concerns a security device comprising a stop member for a drilling instrument for use in dental surgery, said stop member capable of being positioned at a desired depth of drilling and preventing said depth from being exceeded. The two elements drilling instrument (10, 10A) and the stop member (20; 30; 20A; 30A) comprise coupling means directly or indirectly linking them together and co-operating means capable of transforming their movement, such that when the device is operating, the drilling instrument (10, 10A) is retracted rearwards relative to the drilling direction and to the position of the stop member under the action of said means when the front part (23; 33; 23A; 33A) of the stop member comes in contact with a neighbouring surface (9). The co-operating means preferably consist of a screw-nut system, the direction of the thread(s) of said system and the rotating direction of the drill being opposite. A device comprising a gauge (50) containing a piston (55) enables to precalibrate and store the desired drilling depth.
Le dispositif de sécurité comporte une butée pour outil de forage rotatif utilisable notamment en chirurgie dentaire, cette butée pouvant être positionnée en fonction d'une profondeur voulue de forage et empêchant un dépassement de cette profondeur. Les deux éléments outil de forage (10, 10 A) et butée (20; 30; 20 A; 30 A) comportent des moyens de liaison les reliant directement ou indirectement entre eux et de coopération ayant pour effet une transformation de mouvement, de sorte que lors de la mise en oeuvre du dispositif, l'outil de forage (10, 10 A) se retire vers l'arrière par rapport à la direction de forage et à la position de la butée sous l'action desdits moyens dès que la partie frontale (23; 33; 23 A; 33 A) de la butée entre en contact avec une surface avoisinante (9). Les moyens de coopération sont constitués de préférence d'un système vis-écrou, le sens du ou des filets dudit système et le sens de rotation du foret en phase de travail étant inverses. Un dispositif comportant une jauge (50) renfermant un piston (55) permet de précalibrer et de mémoriser la profondeur de forage voulue.
