A screw conveyor provided with a drive in which to cogged wheels (17, 18) are supported in such a way that they are radially movable in relation to each other, parallel to a straight line perpendicular to the pressure line (30) of the tooth contact and parallel to the surfaces of contact (29). The screw conveyor is constituted by a frame (2) turnable around a vertical turning axis and by a conveyor screw turning therewith. The second cogged wheel (17) of the drive of the screw is supported in such a way that it is movable vertically.
