The sealing strip comprises an elongate sealing portion (7) formed of resiliently compressible material such as foam and an elon- gate attachment portion (8) ex- tending laterally from the sealing portion (7). The attachment por- tion is provided with adhesive (2) to affix it to the rear side of a first body panel (9) so that the sealing portion (7) is located in a gap between the panel (9) and an adjacent component (10) so as to seal or mask the gap therebetween. The sealing portion and attachment portion are preferably integrally formed by an extrusion process. The sealing strip has particular appli- cation to the sealing of the "B" post gap of a motor vehicle.
Cette bande d'obturation comprend une partie d'obturation allongée (7) composée d'un matériau à compression élastique tel qu'une mousse, ainsi qu'une partie de fixation allongée (8) s'étendant latéralement à partir de la partie d'obturation (7). La partie de fixation est pourvue d'un adhésif (2) permettant de la fixer à la partie postérieure d'un premier panneau de carrosserie (9) de sorte que la partie d'obturation (7) soit située dans une fente entre ledit panneau (9) et un élément adjacent (10) en vue d'obturer ou de masquer cette fente. La partie d'obturation et la partie de fixation sont de préférence formées en une seule pièce par un procédé d'extrusion. Cette bande d'obturation s'applique particulièrement à l'obturation de la fente du montant 'B' d'un véhicule automobile.
