A security paper comprises a photoluminescent substance having an excitation wavelength ranging from about 220 to 300 nm, and an emission wavelength, which is higher than the excitation wavelength range. This emission wavelength is preferably 450 nm or higher. A coating is present on at least part of the security paper, on at least one side thereof, which coating is at least partially impervious to radiation in the excitation wavelength range to the photoluminescent substance. The security paper is manufactured by applying a coating, which is at least partially impervious to radiation in the excitation wavelength range to at least part of the security paper on at least on side thereof.
Cette invention se rapporte à un papier de sécurité qui comprend une substance photoluminescente ayant une longueur d'onde d'excitation comprise entre environ 220 et 300 nm, et une longueur d'onde d'émission qui est supérieure à la plage de la longueur d'onde d'excitation. Cette longueur d'onde d'émission est de préférence égale ou supérieure à 450 nm. Un enduit est déposé sur au moins une partie de ce papier de sécurité, sur au moins l'un de ses côtés, cet enduit étant au moins partiellement imperméable aux rayonnements dans la plage de la longueur d'onde d'excitation de la substance photoluminescente. On fabrique ce papier de sécurité en appliquant un enduit, qui est au moins partiellement imperméable aux rayonnements dans la plage de la longueur d'onde d'excitation, sur au moins une partie de ce papier de sécurité, sur au moins l'un de ses côtés.
