The invention relates to the rolling production, and can be suitably used in the metalworks utilised in the construction and mechanical engineering industries, and in other types of metalworks. A sheet structural material in its cross-section has boundaries of the front and rear sides. The material is implemented as having a structurally-predetermined thickness variation effected by a shaping operation. On the boundary of the front and/or rear side, and/or at least on one of the cross-section vertices, at least a portion of the cross-section boundary line is implemented in she form of a fragment of a conic section of a right circular cone. Such implementation of a sheet as having a structurally- predetermined thickness variation as effected by shaping operations allows to improve the manufacturability of the articles made of a sheet structural material and reduce the amount of materials consumed in manufacturing thereof through an optimal material strength distribution in a manufactured metalwork.
