A shutter system for securing an access way comprising a screen, a guide, a guide member for interconnecting the guide and screen to allow the screen to be guided by the guide member from an extended position to a storage position and a storage means which permits the screen to be coiled for storage and uncoiled and extended along at least part of the length of the guide.
