A fluid bed processing system (10) in accordance with one embodiment of the present invention includes a product chamber (14), a fluid supply system (16), and a discharge gate (12). The product chamber (14) has an open top (20) and an open bottom (22) and the fluid supply system (16) has an outlet (50) positioned to direct a first fluid into the product chamber. The outlet (32) of the fluid supply system (16) is spaced from the open bottom (22) of the product chamber to define a discharge opening which extends substantially around the open bottom of the product chamber and the outlet of the fluid supply system. The discharge gate (12) is movable to a first position covering the discharge opening and to a second position exposing the discharge opening.
Selon un mode de réalisation, l'invention concerne un système de traitement (10) à lit fluidisé, comprenant une chambre de produit (14), un système d'alimentation (16) fluidique, et une grille de décharge (12) . La chambre de produit (14) possède un haut (20) et un fond (22) ouverts, et le système d'alimentation (16) fluidique possède une ouverture (50) positionnée afin de diriger un premier fluide dans la chambre de produit. La sortie (32) du système d'alimentation (16) fluidique est éloignée du fond (22) ouvert de la chambre de produit, afin de définir une ouverture de décharge qui s'étend sensiblement autour du fond ouvert de la chambre de produit et de ladite sortie du système d'alimentation fluidique.
