Disclosed is a process for preparing a uretdione-functional polyaddition compound from isophorone diisocyanate uretdione and at least one active hydrogen-containing compound selected from a diol, an amino alcohol and a diamine of the following formula: (see fig. I), in which X is - N=C=O or (see fig. II); B is (see fig. III), OR4 , or (see fig. IV); Y and Y1 are each O, NH or NR5; n is a number of 1 to 20; R is (see fig. V) ; R1 is a divalent hydrocarbon radical of 2-16 carbon atoms; R2 is H, or a hydrocarbon radical of 1-14 carbon atoms; and R3, R4, and R5 are each a hydrocarbon radical of 1-14 carbon atoms, by first preparing the uretdione-functional polyaddition compounds (UD-DA) as a solution in a first solvent (L1), and then adding the solution to a second solvent (L2) in which the uretdione-functional polyaddition compound is insoluble, to precipitate UD-DA. By this process even UD-DA having a high melting point can be prepared easily.

Méthode pour préparer un composé de polyaddition avec fonction uretdione à partir d'isophorone diisocyanate uretdione et d'au moins un composé à hydrogène actif, sélectionné parmi un diol, un amino-alcool et une diamine, de formule (voir fig. I), où X est -N=C=O ou (voir fig. II); B est (voir fig. III), OR4 ou (voir fig. IV); Y et Y1 sont chacun O, NH ou NR5; n est un nombre de 1 à 20; R est (voir fig. V) ; R1 est un radical divalent de 2-16 atomes de carbone; R2 est H ou un radical hydrocarboné de 1-14 atomes de carbone; R3, R4 et R5 sont chacun un radical hydrocarboné de 1-14 atomes de carbone; on prépare d'abord les composés d'addition à fonction uretdione (UD-DA) sous forme de solution dans un premier solvant (L1), puis on ajoute la solution à un second solvant (L2) dans lequel le composé de polyaddition à fonction uretdione UD-DA est insoluble, de façon à précipiter l'UD-DA. Grâce à ce procédé, il est possible de préparer facilement même de l'UD-DA possédant un point de fusion élevé.
