A slurry containing water, carbonate-containing pigment, and dispersant consisting of 25-70 % by weight of agglomerated carbonate-containing pigment, 0.1-1.0 % by weight of a dispersant, the balance being water up to 100%, can be used advantageously in papermaking as well as in the paint and laquer industry. In a novel process for agglomerating ultra-fine particles in slurries the slurry is subjected to heat treatment until the agglomeration is complete.
On peut utiliser de manière avantageuse une boue contenant de l'eau, un pigment renfermant des carbonates et un agent dispersant, pour la fabrication du papier, ainsi que dans l'industrie des peintures et des laques. Cette boue est constituée de 25 à 70 %, en poids, de pigment aggloméré renfermant des carbonates, de 0,1 à 1,0 %, en poids, d'agent dispersant et d'eau pour le reste. Au cours d'un nouveau procédé pour agglomérer des particules ultra fines dans des boues, on soumet la boue à un traitement thermique jusqu'à ce que le processus d'agglomération soit complété.
