The present invention relates to a sophisticated structure for a tape measure which comprising: a measuring tape; a main body; and a brake apparatus, wherein the brake apparatus includes a plurality of acute teeth; a brake lever and two positioning pins. By the above structure, when using the tape measure, the user may pull out the tape with estimated shortest length which assure him of being free from the fear that the tape might wind up abruptly causing injury to the user or a third person. The tape measure also can be used to measure successively several objects with different lengths by increasing the tape length stepwisely from the shortest to the longest. A more particular structure is provided by the invention that when winding up the tape, the user may further pull out a short section of the tape and hold it by hand, then tilt the main body in its axial direction with a certain angle and release the tape to perform the withdrawal operation.

La présente invention concerne une structure perfectionnée pour mètre à ruban comprenant : un ruban à mesurer; un corps principal; et un mécanisme de freinage comprenant plusieurs dents pointues; un levier de freinage et deux tiges de positionnement. Avec cette structure, l'utilisateur peut sortir le ruban sur la longueur estimée la plus courte lui assurant que le ruban ne s'enroulera pas abruptement et ne blessera pas l'utilisateur ou une tierce personne. Le mètre à ruban peut aussi être utilisé pour mesurer successivement divers objets de tailles différentes, en augmentant graduellement la longueur du ruban, de la plus courte à la plus grande. L'invention propose également la possibilité d'une structure prévoyant qu'à l'enroulement du ruban, l'utilisateur peut sortir une petite section du ruban et la tenir en main, puis faire basculer le corps principal dans son sens axial selon un certain angle et lâcher le ruban pour exécuter l'opération de retrait.
