Spacing device has a body (2) and at least two guiding flanges (3, 4) which extend from the upper surface (5) of the body. The flanges are spaced approximately the width of the support means and are configures to locate the support means and the spacing body with respect to the mounting means. The spacing device can be used in ceiling.
