A spring clamp is provided for releasably clamping the article attaching means of an electronic article surveillance tag to the tag body. The clamp comprises jaws extending outward from the plane of the clamp body, the clamp body having an area on one side of the jaws for mounting of the clamp body and an area on the other side of the jaws which responds to a torsional force acting the plane of the clamp body, the jaws being configured so that the in-plane torsional force causes the jaws to open.
