A steerable swing device is disclosed which may comprise support cables (3, 4) strung across a gully and crossed to form a junction (9). The support cables (3, 4) are anchored at the sides of the gully by anchor points (5, 6, 7, 8). A swing cable (2) is suspended below junction (9) and a craft (1) is suitably attached to the swing cable (2). A motor-driven winch drum (13) is positioned at the top of the gully and functions to winch the craft (1) to a desirable height before releasing the craft to commence the swing. The craft (1) carries a rider and is provided with a tail assembly including a rudder (18) which is adjusted by moving a joystick (19). During the swing, the craft (1) moves laterally by a rider adjusting the rudder (18). A method of controlling the lateral movements during a swing by a rider is also disclosed.
La présente invention concerne un dispositif de balancement gouvernable qui peut comporter des câbles de suspension (3, 4) tendus au dessus d'une ravine et se croisant pour constituer un point de jonction (9). Les câbles de suspension (3, 4) sont arrimés par des points d'ancrage (5, 6, 7, 8) aux bords de la ravine. Un câble de balancement (2) est suspendu sous le point de jonction (9), un véhicule (1) étant fixé de façon appropriée au câble de balancement (2). Placé au sommet de la ravine, un tambour de treuillage (13) entraîné par un moteur permet de treuiller le véhicule (1) à la hauteur voulue, avant de le libérer pour qu'il commence à se balancer. Le véhicule (1) porte un passager et est muni d'un ensemble queue comportant une gouverne de direction (18) commandée au moyen d'un manche à balai (19). Pendant le balancement, le passager commande la gouverne de direction (18) pour obtenir un mouvement latéral du véhicule (1). Un procédé de commande des mouvements latéraux d'un véhicule au cours d'un balancement, par un passager, est également décrit.
