A system and related methods for automatically identifying media type in a printing device media tray is presented. The system comprises a controller (24016), and an optical sensor (24015), communicatively coupled to the controller, wherein the sensor, is positioned to locate and identify a code containing media type information from a next available piece of print media, and to generate a signal to the controller based, at least in part, on the identified code. Modifications to the printing device and subsidies to the user may occur as a result of the code.
L'invention concerne un système et des procédés permettant d'identifier automatiquement un type de support dans un plateau de supports d'impression d'un dispositif d'impression. Ce système comprend un contrôleur (24016) et un capteur optique (24015), couplé au contrôleur. Le capteur est positionné pour localiser et identifier un code contenant des informations relatives au type de support à partir de la pièce suivante disponible de support d'impression, et pour générer un signal pour le contrôleur, en fonction du code identifié, au moins en partie. Des modifications peuvent être réalisées pour le dispositif d'impression et les accessoires en fonction des résultats de ce code.
